In Full Bloom - A Queer Art Exhibition, February 2025

Last year, we (artists Claire Cassidy and Emma Rowland) curated In Full Bloom - A Queer Art Exhibition, a group exhibition presented during Mardi Gras. The show included works by LGBTQIA+ artists, including Jeff McCann, Nikita Majajas and Micke Lindbergh, and was held in a donated space. Community engagement was excellent, free tickets for the opening night were fully booked two days prior and the event itself was buzzing. The feedback from our artists and visitors was fantastic. 

Despite its success, the entire exhibition was funded personally by us which limited our resources for venue, artist support and broader outreach. Building on the momentum from last year, we have established the Lucky Duck Collective under which we intend to produce this year’s exhibition and future events. To allow our 2026 show to go ahead we are seeking grant funding, and hope to make the next event bigger and better.
